VENICE

NATURAL STATE. 

The Floating City rests on water, but it may as well be part of the clouds. Abundant with tourists in the summertime, you must walk long enough until the crowds dissipate, there is where you find the local Venice. The Venice lagoon is made up of 118 small islands and whether it is nature or art this ethereal town harmonizes god and man, high and low, and everything in between. Its history involves the crusades, the renaissance, the bubonic plague, was known as the first global financial city by the 11th century and set the stage for more than one Shakespeare play. It would be a tragedy to watch this town sink, but for now, we can honor it by wandering through its streets and welcome its ghosts.
